type='text'>*burps*

Excuse me. Well, the Flogging Molly concert is tonight w00t! We're leaving around 4:30ish and hopefully traffic won't be a bitch. Kevin said there's a really good food court inside the CNN building in ATL so I think we might try that, if nothing else, I can say I have been to the CNN building. I'm actually not sure who is opening for FM tonight. All the websites just say "w/ special guests". Brandie told me who it was once but all I can remember of the name was Pastor (maybe Pastor Troy lol j/k). After today my life will kinda suck for a bit. I won't have an off day till Thursday. I work at Lowe's Sat-Mon., Struts Tues. and back at Lowe's Wednesday. Luckily, Brandie and I are leaving for Gulf Shores Friday. I can't wait to get the fuck out of this town for a few days. Well, I'm about to own ass In NBA Jam on SNES so I must go, Goodbye.

Dimple.

yay...

I'm watching The Empire Strikes Back on an HD tv in surround sound...Nice!

ass...

So Bean finally found a kickass camera and a decent price. It's a Cannon HD hardrive camcorder for under $400. Once I get some paychecks put back, we're going to go in half on that and on a podcast kit offered on thinkgeek.com. It comes with the mic, mic stand, recording software, usb cable and metal storage case and it's only $170. As of right now, I don't even have a dollar to my name. Hopefully I'll make at least $50 at Struts Tuesday and I might take Bean's Wednesday shift too because I'm going to the Flogging Molly show Thursday and need some spare cash. I get paid from Lowe's the day I leave for vacation and will have about 34.5 hours so it should be a good paycheck. Well, I must be going, I'm gotta find something to watch to pass some time away because I barely have enough gas to make it to work and back. It's going to be a tough adjustment to get used to for a while. I'm used to being able to show up around the specified time or maybe an hour late, not clocking in, being able to take a smoke break basically whenever, and being paid cash at the end of every shift. But the pay is MUCH better and it's a hell of a lot closer. I'm leaving next Friday for Gulf Shores and I can't fucking wait. I need a break from this shit hole town. The Flogging Molly show is coming up Thursday. I'm pretty crunkcited about it. Dream Theater and Opeth are coming in May and ,hopefully, Bean and I will get tickets. Well, I've gotta find a way to go to sleep b/c i fucked up and drank a mountain dew. Goodbye.

Dimple.

Oscar Picks, Oscar Wins

Here are my picks for the categories that I gave a shit about for the 2008 Oscars:

Best Picture - No Country for Old Men
Best Actor - Daniel Day Lewis
Best Director - The Coen brothers
Best Supporting Actor - Javier Bardem
Best Actress - Ellen Page
Best Supporting Actress - Amy Ryan
Best Cinematography - The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Best Editing - The Bourne Ultimatum
Best Song - "Falling Slowly" from Once
Best Adapted Screenplay - No Country for Old Men
Best Original Screenplay - Juno

Here are the categories that I picked correctly:

Best Picture
Best Director
Best Actor
Best Supporting Actor
Best Editing
Best Song
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best original Screenplay

8/11

Overall, I did well. I told my girlfriend that if Daniel Day Lewis didn't win best actor, murders would be committed by my hands. My main motive for Daniel Day Lewis to win, other than There Will Be Blood was actually good, is I feel he should have won the oscar for Gangs of New York but didn't. As far as the categories I lost, I picked Ellen Page for best actress just because I loved her in that movie and I don't remember the roles of the other nominees, I picked Amy Ryan for best supporting actress because I wanted Gone Baby Gone to win at least one award, and for best cinematography, I picked the Assassination of Jesse James just because I thought it was better than the other nominees. The best moment of the night was the live performance of Falling Slowly. Can't wait for next year!

Dimple

The typical douchebag

Ok I just want to give my definition of the typical douchebag of our time. Let's start with a wardrobe of way too many polo shirts, faded jeans with holes, wallabees and/or sperrys, an MLB hat (though most of these assholes don't root for that team) usually flatbilled and over sized and cocked to the side, and a northface jacket. The most common team is the yankees because that's what everyone gets. When I see a douchebag wearing a redsox hat, I often find myself standing still and realizing that I've wasted 10 minutes of my life standing and dreaming of different ways to end their life. Anyways, they normally have a southern accent, jock type, listen to rap but claim to be racist, think country music is the greatest thing known to man, and when you quiz them on metal, they almost always say either Nickelback or Hinder. I would almost risk jailtime to end these people. They are also some of the most immature, ignorant, close-minded, drugged-out, alcoholic pricks on this planet, but claim that they are hardcore christians and they focus their lives only on God...give me a FUCKING break. Anyways, I don't even know why I posted this, I'm just chillin in t-town watching The Warriors and just wanted to vent a bit. Goodbye.

Dimple

Fuck Rap...listen to Hip-hop

Ok this has been bothering me for a while. Everyone is all about rap these days. How can anyone possibly consider this music? Anyone can make a simple beat, loop it and basically talk over it. It is seriously the shittiest excuses for music. All rap music consists of is a "clever"(yea right) dance and and a stupid one-liner excuse for a chorus that is OVERLY repeated throughout the song. Best example is Soulja Boy. Actually I don't even want to say anything else about soulja boy because it actually makes me gag a little. If you want good urban music, go with hip hop. Hip hop has way better beats, not overdone with caribbean drums or random snaps and claps. The lyrics actually have meaning, something rap has yet to discover. Some hip hop artists to really check out are Ghostface Killah, Methodman, Jay-Z, Kanye West(the most popular), Common, Nas, Tupac and Dr. Dre, just to name a few. So all of you people that are so into rap and think it's the new generation of "music", murder yourself. Please?

Dimple

Madly In Anger With The Poll!

Okay, who ever decided to vote for St. Anger on my poll needs to get a fucking clue about good music. If you think that album is the best Metallica album, then obviously you have a mental health problem because no sane person would vote for that flaming pile of shit. Well, we didn't do too much today. We ate some kickass ham sandwiches today (made with honey-glazed ham), then we went down the mountain (which takes like 35 mins) and went to the grocery store to stock up on some supplies and shit. Upon returning, we started playing pool, listening to music, and drinking a bit. Ashleigh is making her awesome fatijtas tonight and we're watching Dexter now to kill some time. I'm enjoying a bottle of Honey Brown lager and softly listening to "you know my name" by Chris Cornell. We had this Swedish guy stay with us last night. His name was Eirvay (spelling) and he was really cool. He slept downstairs in the other room last night so me and Bean had to share a bunk bed. Well, the food is almost ready so I must be going. Have a great day!

Dimple

Season's Greetings from the Mountains!!!

Well Merry Fucking Christmas to everyone. I hope it was wonderful for all. Mine was amazing. I ended up with a shit ton of clothes, a Playstation 3, a Nintendo Wii w/ Guitar Hero 3, cologne, a kickass jacket, The Office season 3, Superbad, and so much more. I'm typing this from an amazing house high atop the Georgia mountains with Bean, Ashleigh (his sis), Matt (her bf), their mom and Judson. We just finished eating the best lasagna in the world. Unlike last year, we have wireless internet, which is why I am typing this entry. I will be posting more as things unfold up here. Happy Holidays to All!

Dimple!

Eulogy by Ben Kenney

This is a live video for the song "Eulogy" by Ben Kenney. type='text'>Merry Christmas!

Well, I have finally reached the legal age to buy cigarettes! (although I've been buying them for a while so it's not much different). That's pretty much the only difference between being 18 and 19. There are just some birthdays that kinda suck because you turn an age that doesn't matter. For example, 14. You aren't quite old enough for a driver's permit so other than the fact that you get gifts, nothing feels different. 13 and younger is a different story because you're just fucking thrilled about all the new toys and shit. I think it will suck to turn 20 because I will officially not be a teenager anymore and yet, nothing changes. Anyways, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! I know I will b/c I'll be spending mine in a kickass house way up in the Georgia mountains. It's a good thing we recently got a pool table because Christmas Mountain Trip Pool Tournament 2007 will be occurring during the trip and I need to be practicing. Bean won last year's tournament on a count of a technicality so I need to make sure that doesn't happen again. Well, I am about to enjoy an awesome Oreo McFlurry so I must be going... Happy Holidays!

Dimple

Wow...

Wow, I just realized how long it's been since I've posted anything. Well, I'm just going to start rambling about anything and everything. First of all, WATCH ONCE! It is truly an amazing movie and it was made for next to nothing. Takes place in Ireland. I won't give anything else away. The soundtrack also kicks ass. Christmas and my birthday are both fastly approaching (actually my birthday comes first, the 16th) and I can only wonder what all I'll be getting because I am known as a hard person to shop for. I'm sure I'll at least like most of it lol but I'll be thankful for all of it. I finally registered my lazy ass for college and will be starting in the spring semester of 08. Still have no idea what I want to do but I have some ideas. I'm mostly looking into engineering (computer) but lately I've been looking into film. The University of Alabama offers both of these degrees which is awesome because I plan on eventually transferring there after my basics are out of the way. The sooner the better in my opinion. This town absolutely sucks. I can't keep motivated here because I'm constantly reminded of how this is a nowhere town and I've got to get out to be happy. Don't get me wrong, I'll miss the hell out of alot of people when I leave but I've gotta look out for myself first. Hopefully by April-May I will have an apartment with Ryan and/or Bean. I think it will be best for me. Enough of that shit though. Right now is a shitty time for TV and movies. The writer's guild is still on strike which means all of my favorite shows are on hiatus and eventually the film companies will run out of scripts. So, I'm hoping everything can get resolved ASAP. I have to miss The Office now and I'm fucking pissed about it. In my opinion, it's the best show on television right now. I'm in desperate need of money right now. I've kinda fallen behind on my bills and I am constantly reminded everyday. I'll just be glad when I'm caught back up so I can have some peace lol. Bean and I are currently trying to start a band, somewhat influenced by bands such as Flight of the Conchords and Tenacious D. BTW, Flight of the Conchords fucking Rock. Their music is great and their show is funny as shit. I'm watching To Catch a Predator right now, which is amazing. Chris Hansen is the man. It's so funny watching these sick fucks get busted, especially since CH is such a smartass. Well, I think I've written enough for now, hopefully I'll be updating this more often than I have been. well, Goodnight...

Dimple

cut out the gut...

I'm about to try a new diet. Hopefully it will work. My friend Ryan lost almost 60 pounds on it so maybe I will lose some too lol. the food choice isn't that bad. there are 12 main foods I can eat, known as "power foods". They are: Unsalted Peanuts, Beans (haha), Vegetables (not fried), Dairy (no whole milk/frozen yogurt), Unsweetened oatmeal (I hardly ever eat oatmeal), eggs, lean meats like turkey (no steak, bacon, sausage, or thick ham), natural sugar-free peanut butter (which is actually really good), olive oil (I didn't understand that one), whole grain bread (has to be "whole wheat" not just "wheat"), whey protein, and berries. It may not sound like the greatest food choices but it's a hell of a lot better than most diet foods. I can also have 1 meal per week where I can eat whatever the fuck I want to. It sounds odd, but it says to eat 6 small meals a day. I guess eating 6 snack size meals instead of snacking all day and eating meals keeps your appetite lower. I'll also be doing a lot of cardio and spending quite a bit of time in the steam room. I want to get back down to 165-170. So that means I'll have to lose about 30 pounds or so. It will be tough but if i want this bad enough, I'll stick to it. Well, I must go for now, I'm working a double shift tomorrow so I need some sleep. Goodbye.

Dimple

Further Down the River...

If you are like me and listen to music while falling asleep, I have the perfect song. "Aqueous Transmission" by Incubus. It's the most relaxing thing I've ever heard. It has an Oriental vibe to it and it's basically about the thought of calmly floating down a river. Very nice song and it sounds 10 times better live.

Dimple

Slow Motion

On the way home from the Incubus concert (which was kickass), Brandie, Candice and I were listening to some of her mix cds. We stumbled upon one of my all time favorite songs, "Slow Motion" by Third Eye Blind. I've listened to the song for years but I've never really payed a lot of attention to the lyrics. They are really fucked up. It's a beautiful song and I recommend it to everyone. It really makes you stop and think about things after listening to it and really following the lyrics. It has a real mellow tone to the song and it just sets this mood...You'll just have to listen to it yourself. Anyways, I'll post the lyrics but if you ever want to find the song, either go to their myspace page or buy their album "Blue".

Dimple

"Miss Jones taught me english
But I think I just shot her son
‘Cause he owed me money
With a bullet in the chest you can not run
Now he’s bleeding in a vacant lot
The one in the summer where we used to smoke pot
I guess I didn’t mean it
But man you shoulda seen it
His flesh explode

Slow motion see me let go
We tend to die young
Slow motion see me let go
What a brother knows
Slow motion see me let go

Now the cops will get me
But girl if you will let me
I’ll take your pants off
I got a little bit of blow we could both get off
Later bathing in the afterglow
Two lines of coke I cut with Drano
And her nose starts to bleed
A most beautiful ruby red

Slow motion see me let go
We’ll remember these days
Slow motion see me let go
Urban life decay
Slow motion see me let go

And at home my sister’s eating paint chips again
Maybe that’s why she’s insane
I shut the door to the moaning
And I shoot smack in veins
Wouldn’t you?
See my neighbor’s beating his wife
Because he hates his life
There’s a knock to his fist as he swings
Oh man what a beautiful thing
And death slides close to me
Won’t grow old to be
A junkie wino creep

Hollywood glamorized my wrath
I’m a young urban psychopath
I incite murder for your entertainment
‘Cause I needed the money, what’s your excuse?
The joke’s on you

Slow motion see me let go
Oh yeah
Slow motion see me let go, oh
Slow motion see me let go, oh"

thought...

Here's a thought that I had earlier today at work. You know how some people say (referring to men pissing) "if you shake it more than twice, you're playing with it"? That is bullshit. Because sometimes you need those few extra shakes. Otherwise, you could be left with that feeling of piss kinda dripping down your leg and that sucks. I'm sure other guys know what I mean by that. Anyways, that's just a random thought I had today at work. Goodbye for now.

Dimple

Well hello there, I just got off work and thought I would try to post something. Starting Monday, I move from being a cook to a buss boy at Struts. I know, it sounds like a downgrade, but I get a $1 an hour raise, all of my earnings are tax free, and I split some of the tips with the servers. I'm actually quite happy because most of the dudes that work in the kitchen are FUCKING DICKS!. Anyways, I have a random question for anyone who reads this (if anyone actually does), what beer do you prefer most? The most common beer for partying and such is either Bud Light or Natural light( Nasty Light) and occasionally a Coors Light is thrown in. Personally, I prefer Miller Highlife. From what I have gathered, MHL is a love/hate beer. I prefer it because it goes down really smooth and it's hardly ever really foamy. The best way to enjoy MHL, like most beers, is by drinking the bottles. Canned beer is some of the worst shit I've ever drank because you don't get the full flavor from a can. Of course, cans are easier to buy and it's what you most often see at a party, but if you have the opportunity, go with bottled beer. My friend and co-poster(?) on the BFCD Blog Alex would probably prefer dark beer, or at least it seems that way to me. It's alright, but you kind of have to be in a certain mood for dark beer. A good brand of dark beer to get if you decide to swing that way is Newcastle. It almost has a coffee-type taste to it. If you ever want to try something different, go with a Miller Chill. It's basically Miller with lime and salt flavorings already in it. It's better, cheaper, and easier than Corona so if you're looking for a taste of the latin life, go with MC. Ha, that last sentence was ridiculous lol. If you are interested in a more expensive type beer, I recommend either Blue Moon or Red Stripe. Yea, it's almost $10 per six pack but it's worth it. The best way to enjoy Blue Moon is by pouring it into a glass and adding an orange slice, do the same with redstripe only use the more common lime. Well, enough booze talk, I'm pretty fucking tired now so I'm going to go, Goodbye for now!

Dimple!

Welcome.....

Hello, my name is Blake Dalrymple and this is the first post (hopefully of many) on my new blog. I really don't have much to say right now but I thought that this would be a much better place to post it if I do because Myspace is going down the shitter. It used to be alright to get on there just to converse and share pictures and comments with friends but now, people are starting to take it over and turn it into such childish shit. Therefore, I will now only use myspace to keep in contact with certain friends.
